A small piece cut or broken from a gemstone. The place on a gemstone from which such a chip has been broken. A chip of that nature can sometimes be concealed by the manner in which the stone is set.A diamond weighing less than three-quarter of a carat, usually one that is rose cut or single cut or one cutirregularly.
