Jacinth

From the Greek hyakinthos, a yellow flower. An ancient denomination, no longer used, applied to various gems of orange and reddish hues, e.g. hessonite (garnet),brownish-red zircon (also called "hyacinth") and, less commonly, orangesapphire. Some people consider jacinth as a synonym of zircon.
