A style of cutting a diamond that is a modification of the brilliant cut. It has a hexagonal table surrounded by 32 triangular and isosceles-trapezium facets on the crown, with 72 facets on thepavilion plus sometimes the culet, and in addition has 48 facets along the girdle making a total of 154 facets. The 'royal 144' with fewer facets is for smaller stones.
